This work, together with a paper previously published on LRCW2, allows a first classification of the ceramic manufactures wellmatched with the geolithological characteristics of the district of Durrës (Albania). In the earlier phase of the research archaeological and archaeometric studies were carried out on selected samples representative of cooking ware forms brought to light in late roman layers of abandonment of a thermal complex located in Dyrrachion (Durrës) and dated back to the end of the 1st and the beginning of the 2nd century AD. Nel 1980 sono stati scavati alla periferia di Palermo 4 silos riutilizzati al momento della chiusura come butti. in questa sede si è ripresa la ceramica da fuoco leggendo i dati alla luce del processo di islamizzazione della città. Inoltre, si è cercato di capire all'interno della topografia di Palermo cosa potesse esserci in quest'area fuori dalle mura, vicina alle sorgenti del fiume Papireto. Con molta probabilità quest'area della città, usata come cava di pietra, era la sede delle truppe musulmane: il Muasqar delle fonti scritte.

This report, part of a wider project involving the ancient landscapes of Himera and Thermae, presents the archaeological and archaeometric results on Late Roman amphorae and coarse/cooking wares from Termini Imerese. The aim is also to illustrate the distribution of the same types of Roman pottery in the hinterland of Thermae, where the Dept. of Cultural Heritage of Palermo University has carried out intensive surveys (from 1982, published from 1988 until 2009). A good documentation of African amphorae, coarse/cooking wares, produced both in Byzacena and Zeugitana, and also local amphorae and coarse/cooking wares and Pantellerian ware, have been found both in Thermae and in the hinterland, …

This paper presents the archaeological and archaeometric results about roman amphorae, coarse/cooking wares and TSA from Termini Imerese (NW Sicily), and the relationships with distribution of same pottery in the hinterland of ancient city, where in the last thirty years the Dept. of Cultural Heritage of University of Palermo have carried out extensive surveys (San Leonardo, Torto and Northern Imera valleys). Pantellerian ware: a comprehensive archaeometric review.

Pantellerian ware is a Late Roman cooking ware whose production centre was established on the island of Pantelleria by the pioneering research of Fulford and Peacock almost 20 years ago (Peacock 1982; Fulford and Peacock 1984). Archaeological and archaeometric studies carried out by the authors of the present contribution during the past four years have aimed to fully characterize this ceramic class.
